The history of Crossflatts F.C.
Crossflatts FC was formed in 1995 under the name Royal FC. The club was formed by a few players who frequented the Royal pub in Crossflatts and they approached Dave Schofield with a view to managing the side. Dave agreed, if the funds were found, and Bob Peel (secretary), Steve Dixon (Landlord) and Dave then oversaw the birth of Royal FC.
It its first season, the club had its ups and downs but with one game to play, they won the Third Division at the first attempt. They also got through to the Sunday Cup Final, and in a memorable game beat Ring 'O' Bells 4-3 to complete a league and cup 'double'.
Success continued for the team in their second season when once again they won the 'double' and in doing so became the first team to win the cup twice.

In its third season, the club got promoted to the Premier Division to complete a hat-trick of promotions, only this time it was as runner-up to the Victoria Hotel. The club did gain revenge though by beating them in the Cup Final to create a record of three cup wins that has still not been beaten to this day.
The next three seasons were poor by the team's standards when they were wallowing in mid-table obscurity and were even relegated once. Then in the 2002-2003 season the club had a resurgence, with the new players from the previous season settling into the club, we managed to finish third in the league. It was a memorable season for our all-time leading goalscorer Spencer Harrison (285 goals) who managed to score a mammoth 65 goals!... Now that's a record that will take some beating!

The upturn carried on into the following season when the club won the league by a massive margin and also defeated our arch-rivals Sandy Lane 3-0 in the Senior Cup Final to complete another 'double' in our last season in the Wharfedale Sunday League. For the 2004/2005 season, the club crossed over to the Wharfedale Triangle League, which is of a higher standard. The first season in this league saw the club finish a highly creditable fourth in the Premier Division.

The 2005/2006 season saw more new arrivals, and more silverware as Shane Whitford's men lifted the PC Sports League Cup with a narrow 1-0 extra time win against Rawdon.
